Henry Lincoln, who's real name is Henry Soskin, (Henry Lincoln is a pseudonym) is in his late seventies now, but is best known as English writer and actor, and in the circles we travel in, for his knowledge and writings on the French village of Rennes-le-Château. Although the origins of the Rennes-le-Château story surround a priest, Berenger Sauniere, who is supposed to have found some parchments or other information hidden in a columnn in the church in Rennes. That information apparently made him wealthy and some would say, powerful. What it was, remains a mystery, although some speculate that whatever it was, the Catholic Church did not want it to become common knowledge.
Since the Holy Blood and Holy Grail story, Henry Lincoln has remained interested in the area around Rennes-le-Chateau and has written quite extensively about the area, and the mystery and significance of the natural "pentagonal geometry" that is found in the landscape there. Andrew Gough interviewed Henry Lincoln recently, and it is a most interesting read, you can find it Here Henry explains some of his ideas and thoughts about the area, and about the mysteries that interest him and of course, those are many of the same mysteries that intrique me and you.
I find the pentagonal geometry most interesting, in that it is more than just 5 landmarks joined together in a 'star' shape. As Lincoln points out, that kind of geometry can be found almost anywhere in the landscape if one cares to look for it. Lincoln is quite clear that what he is referring to is more than just a pentagram, it is a fixed measure, specifically 2 miles, 1618 yards in length, between the points of the pentagonal geometry that he has discovered in the area around Rennes-le-Chateau.
Speaking of pentagonal geometry, a fellow from Nova Scotia, Canada, a place with some very strong ties to the Knights Templar, has uncovered some interesting pentagrams in the landscape of Nova Scotia. His name is John Coleman. In John's words, he says, "I have discovered a history of North America and humanity which is not told in the schools and texts. I have found a project that has been hidden from the general public, and has consumed the lives of many men throughout the ages toward a goal that, at this point, I can only make an intelligent guess."
John has done some extensive research and made it available to us on his website, found Here Although, in an update to his website, he alludes to his conclusion that "the whole “mystery” is larger and more beautiful than I would ever have guessed, and at the same time, sort of normal and everyday" He really doesn't elaborate beyond that, perhaps leaving it to us to follow our own personal 'grail' search, which of course will make our own discoveries more meaningful to each of us.
Although I have read about both John Coleman's geometric discoveries, and Henry Lincoln's as well, I have to admit, I have not given too much thought to them until now. My own research and reading has been more focused on the possible people in the stories, and the history as it relates to the people, instead of anything in the landscape. However, I think now that I will pay more attention to the geometry in the things I look at, and the way I approach some of my own 'discoveries'
That there are geometric patterns in the landscape is a given. That they hold some meaning beyond coincidence is another thing entirely. It is up to us to look, and to see, to question, and hopefully, ultimately to answer!
