December 21, 2012 Huh?

Every so often I like to post something about this date, just to keep it in mind....kind of makes you wonder if worrying about saving for a rainy day or paying off that mortgage is all that important.....



Did you know that the fear of December 2012 can be traced to the calender developed by a ancient group of peoples called the Mayans?
They developed a calender that apparently ends on December 2012. In other words, they didn't bother to go any further, which has led many to speculate that they had figured out that would be the end of time, therefore, no need to create any further calenders....

The first recorded connection between the end of time and the Mayans was in The Mayan Factor: Path Beyond Technology by Jose Arguelles. In his book, Arguelles explains timing frequencies, and claims to have discovered a difference between artificial time and natural time. Artificial Time is based on the mechanical clock, and the 12 month Gregorian calender, whereas Natural Time is based on a mathematical ratio which he believes is the basis for the Mayan Calender. His work has led to the belief that the world will end as we know it, in 2012....don't stress about that mortgage....ha!
