The coroners jury looking into the mysterious death of Diana, the late Princess of Wales back in 1997, has seen some compelling evidence that Dodi Fayed, her boyfriend who was killed in the Paris car crash along with her, may have purchased an engagement ring for Diana.
Of course, determining whether the rumors that Diana and Al Fayed were planning to get married is important stuff for the jurors to consider. Like any murder investigation, motive has to be found, and that might be just enough motive to spark a reaction.
Dodi Fayed's father, Mohamed al Fayed has long argued that his son was the victim of a royal murder plot directed by Prince Philip, probably because, according to Fayed, Diana was not only going to marry his son, she was pregnant with his child.
As we all know by now, French authorities have said the Princess died because the driver of her car was speeding and was drunk at the time of the crash. He was also killed in the car accident...if it was an accident...(I said that to sound mysterious)
According to Mohamed al Fayed, his son had purchased an engagement ring for Diana in Monte Carlo earlier in August of 1997 and was delivered to the jewelry store near to the Ritz Hotel where the lovers were staying the night of the crash. Mohamed al Fayed
says they planned to announce the engagement the following Monday.
The jurors were told a ring that matched the description of one that Dodi apparently purchased was found in his flat after he died.
So what does all this mean? Who knows, but if it is accepted as fact, then it does add some credibility to the claims of Mohamed al Fayed. The next part of his claims will become much more difficult to prove. His claims that Prince Philip, ex father-in-law to Diana was charged with the job of having her die, are going to be much harder to prove. I am sure that the idea behind it will be that her marriage and possible child to a foreign national, of middle eastern descent would be embarrassing to the royal family. Perhaps, but enough to have her killed? Enough to orchestrate something as complicated as this? There are so many loopholes in this plan, such as what if she survived the crash? What if Dodi did?
Would her possible engagement and marriage to Dodi really embarrass the royal family, Prince Philip or Prince Charles her estranged husband? Perhaps. I don't run in those circles so I don't know for sure, but I guess anything is possible. Matters of the heart can be hard to explain, otherwise, why are there so many murder suicides amongst estranged couples?
I would assume as the husband of the Queen of England, Prince Philip would certainly have the connections and power to make almost anything happen. But that doesn't quite explain how you orchestrate a car accident to get the results you need. That also presupposes that the Prince is a person who is capable of ordering someone killed, which is a big leap to make, one that is hard to believe. I don't know the man but from what I have seen of him on television and the like, he doesn't give me that impression.
There is also the possiblity of others in the royal family being involved, or perhaps organizations somewhat removed from the family itself, but still interested, or with a big stake in royal affairs being behind the events of that August evening in 1997.
So what would it take? Besides a motive, one would have to have figured out a way to kill someone, make it look like an accident and get away with it. Running a car off the road for instance, is not a guarantee that the people in the car will be killed. In fact, it is probably a bit of a stretch to assume they would be. Making sure the driver was drunk before hand, as some reports have claimed Henri Paul the driver was, is another thing not necessarily easy to orchestrate.
On the other hand, if you were a calculating person, or persons, and you were tasked with the job, or at least considering it, perhaps events unfolded that enabled you to help things along, and take your chances as to the outcome. It really wouldn't matter which one was killed, or if both were killed, as long as the union was ended. Of course, if Diana was pregnant, which I doubt somehow, it would mean that it would be very important that she be the victim. That is if you knew she was pregnant, and how would you unless you were very close to the Princess, or her doctor, or if you knew people who were.
Assuming they, being the supposed royal conspirators knew, why not just blow up the car and blame terrorist extremists? Well, this was prior to 911 and extremists weren't as common as they are today. Northern Ireland had calmed down a bit, so it was hard to blame them. Body guards like Trevor Reese Jones aren't usually quick to turn on their charges, and orchestrating a murder is very difficult to do, even more so given the scrutiny that one would know would follow any murder or attempted murder on the "Queen of Hearts" as the Princess was often called.
But, if you were someone concerned with the possible union of the Princess and Dodi Al Fayed, and you were watching, waiting for an opportunity to present itself, and one did, this might be how you do it. After all, at worst, you run the car off the road and everyone lives, and it's just blamed as a nasty accident. At best, you run the car driven by an impaired man off the road, everyone is killed, and it's still called an accident, everyone feels bad, but that's life, full of unfortunate accidents.
If someone was watching for an opportunity, this might have been it, and the chance was taken. The odds are that in a crash of a vehicle travelling at high speeds, someone is going to be killed, maybe you will get lucky and it will be the person you are after. There is no doubt that Diana and Dodi were watched by British or Royal family organizations. She was too well known, too outspoken and somewhat dangerous to the Family if she decided to be, so keeping an eye on her would be in their best interests. But that is a long way from having her killed in what might be one of the biggest conspiracy coverups of recent history, that is, if it was. This is along the lines of the Robert Kennedy assination, which has yet to be proven to have been a conspiracy, but then, depending on what you believe, it hasn't been proven it wasn't either.
Of course all of the above is just speculation, completely unfounded, and likely completely untrue, but if Mohammed al Fayed has his way, that is what this coroner's investigation will prove.
The ring which Dodi al Fayed had been looking at and apparently purchased is said to have been a 'dis moi oui' ring, which translates to, "tell me yes"
That type of ring was found in his flat after his death......
