Skull and Bones Society

What do George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, John Kerry, William F Buckley, William Howard Taft, Prescott Bush, John Chafee, Percy Rockefeller have in common? They are the names of U.S. presidents, senators, businessmen, powerful and influential, some of them may be the most influential in the world. But these fellows have something else in common, membership in an exclusive and secret club, called the the Skull and Bones, a secret little known organization with it's origins located on the campus of Yale Univerity, it's members Yale alumnists.

This secret organization, Skull and Bones, known about by many, understood by few, may in fact be responsible for holding much of America's power within it's members.

The Skull and Bones is very secretive, yet very influential if for no other reason than the prominence of it's members. The question is, are it's members influential because of their involvement in Skull and Bones, or is Skull and Bones influential because of the prominence of it's members.

The don't often 'tap' everyday joes for membership in this club. These are guys and recently, girls, who have powerful connections, and families and who show promise as capable of becoming leaders in their fields. 15 new members are chosen, or "tapped" each year, and if they go through with it, they are initiated into membership in the organization which requires not only allegiance but absolute secrecy from them.

I recently watched a video of an interview of both John Kerry and George W. Bush where the interviewer asked both men if they were indeed members of the Skull and Bones club and if they were, what did that their membership in the Skull and Bones mean for them as they were running against each other in the U.S. presidential election. Both men neatly sidestepped the question, almost laughed it off, but didn't, Bush actually stammered a little, although that doesn't mean much because he does stammer a little as he begins to respond to questions.

But both didn't come out and deny it either, they just sidestepped the question. You can watch the video HERE

According to Skull and Bones history, or at least what we are lead to believe is their history, the organization was founded around 1832 by William H. Russell, who at the time was the secretary of Yale's Phi Beta Kappa Chapter. He is purported to have started the organization that continues to this day.
